Work to strengthen the business, APSRTC MD tells employees
AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, in an open letter to employees, explained to them the measures taken by the government to get the cash-strapped organization back on track and his own efforts to understand the issues faced by employees since he took office. last June 1.
During his attempt to study existing problems, he realized that discipline and dedication were the characteristics of employees.
He listed some milestones such as the government’s decision to increase the retirement age of company employees in September 2019 and the merging of RTC employees into the government on January 1, 2020.
He said that despite severe monetary setbacks during the COVD-induced lockdown period, the government ensured that the company’s employees received their monthly salaries on time. The merger paved the way for extending medical benefits to Department of Public Transport employees on the same basis as other government employees, he said.

He also recalled that the government had given the green light for the appointment of relatives of RTC employees who had succumbed to the virus for compassionate reasons.
Hosting online classes in conjunction with the Center for Human Security Society to help employees’ children shape their careers and reviving employee promotions that had been stalled after the state bifurcation were some of the other measures that have benefited employees, he said.
Rao said employees should respond to the government’s attempts to ensure their welfare by working sincerely to strengthen the organization.
Highlighting the high level of competition in the transport sector, Mr. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao urged APSRTC staff to set an example for other states by serving the public with utmost care and commitment.
