Vemulawada prasadam to devotees via RTC freight service: TSRTC MD

Rajanna Sircilla: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) MD VC Sajjanar has informed that plans are being prepared to deliver Vemulawada Rajarajeshwra Swamy prasadam to devotees through TSRTC cargo services.
They would develop a comprehensive plan through discussion with the commissioner of the endowment department and temple authorities, MD said. Stating that the demand for RTC freight services has been strengthened over the past year and a half, he informed that the company has earned revenue of Rs 100 crore from freight services.
Dozens of people used cargo services to get Sammakka-Sarakka ‘Bangaram’ (Jaggery) from Medaram jatara. RTC has received over one lakh orders for Badrachalam Sitarama kalyanam ‘Talambralu’. Twenty-two tons of mangoes were supplied to the residents of Jagtial, he informed. Out of 30,000 devotees visiting Vemulawada Shrine, 9,000 pilgrims used the services of RTC, MD informed and added that a tour package with Vemulwada Shrine and surrounding temples will be finalized soon.
Sajjanar visited the Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple on Thursday and performed special prayers at the shrine. Later, he arranged a meeting with RTC officials and temple authorities to discuss the provision of Rajarajeshwara Swamy prasadam through RTC cargo services. Later, speaking to reporters, Sajjanar informed that he would launch the TSRTC app within the month. The app, which will be launched for the convenience of passengers, would even help rural customers know where the buses are and where to go.
In order to provide more services to customers, they will purchase 116 new buses, which will be operated from the district headquarters to other states. Informing about operating electric buses in a few districts on a pilot basis, he said the buses would be operated from headquarters in Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal and Mahabubnagar districts. In order to bring the lost glory to the decades-old society, they were taking various measures in coordination with all officials. Informing that the people of the state have a special relationship with the RTC, he advised the public to use the services of the company for their needs.
Stating that there is great popularity among rural people on RTC, MD said they are moving forward with innovative ideas to attract more passengers. They were also planning to provide more services to people as per their wish besides educating rural people about PSTN services. Stating that the rising diesel prices have become a huge burden, he said they are taking steps to reduce the burden and expressed his confidence to overcome the problem by taking advice from experts.
The occupancy rate increased to 72%, he informed and added that incentives have been given to employees who work overtime. Employee salaries were paid on the first day of the month and recently DAs were also paid. Praising the Karimnagar RTC team for their good work, he said the district administration was also extending its support to the officials of the company. EDO Munishekhar, ED Veerla Venkateshwarlu, Karimnagar Regional Manager KS Khan, Division Managers Shankar and Kavitha and Depot Managers were present.
