Room Shield has signed a joint venture agreement with a North Staffordshire manufacturer to bring its HOCL (hypochlorous acid) products to the commercial market.

“Covid-19 has clearly placed a focus on hand sanitizing and unfortunately there has been an increase in skin problems caused by alcohol and sensitizing chemicals commonly used in these products,” said Kevin Parr, who created the company. with other shareholders John Donnelly and Dave Williams.

“HOCL is a water-based hypochlorine disinfectant formula that kills 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses and can be used in all environments including bars, food preparation areas, restaurants , gymnasiums, hotels, transport, schools and workplaces.

Room Shield has upgraded the production capacities of its manufacturing partner in North Staffordshire to meet the expected surge in demand, with 40 new jobs expected to be created as deployment accelerates.

The domestic market is just the start for the company and the management team is currently in talks with several distributors to help make the product global.

This has already seen Advanced Hygienics, Anixter, Busters Group, Pestfix and Sanitimes agree to act on behalf of the company, with the production plan in place if manufacturing lines are to be installed overseas.
