The Pune Rail Division carried 71 freight trains in August for an income of ??29

The Pune Rail Division carried 71 freight trains in August for an income of ??29.49 crores.

During the current financial year from April to the end of August by transporting various types of goods, the division generated a turnover of ??95.23 crore which is the highest income generated in the last five years in the central railways.

As Pune is surrounded by many manufacturing companies and MIDC companies, the main mode of transportation is rail. Whereas in August of this year the largest number of freight trains with 71 trains left the division across the country. In this maximum transport was sugar and automotive products.

“A better commercialization of rail freight transport has been achieved in recent months and we have thus achieved this objective of 71 rail freight transportations in one month. Several new customers nationally and internationally have been linked to the railways and thanks to our affordable, frequent and safe transportation, we have this business, ”said Manoj Jhawar, spokesperson for Pune Rail Division.
