Mahindra teases 5 electric SUVs ahead of reveal!
It’s been a while since Mahindra teased its upcoming electric SUVs which will be unveiled on August 15th. The Indian automaker first presented three electric coupes a few months ago. What to expect
Mahindra has given its SUVs the nickname “born electric” because these electric vehicles are electric from the ground up and not based on any existing ICE car. The teaser only shows us the silhouette of the electric SUVs and doesn’t reveal much other than the fact that most of them will feature a coupe-like sloping roofline. However, one of these SUVs has a silhouette that looks exactly like the XUV700. This hints that an electric version of the flagship SUV could be coming soon.
Mahindra’s earlier teaser revealed a few more details about the electric SUVs. Presumably these cars are chunky and will have a good road presence, the lights should also have a full LED setup. The rear LED headlights are shaped like a C and an inverted C, somewhat reminiscent of the XUV700’s LED daytime running lights. This hints that electric SUVs could be part of the XUV lineup. One such SUV could be the XUV900 which would be designed as a coupe SUV. Designed to be the flagship SUV, the XUV900 can be expected to feature Mahindra’s latest technology in terms of safety, infotainment and powertrains.
These electric SUVs are also expected to feature Mahindra’s ADAS technology which debuted in the XUV700. Expect these EVs to be built on an all-new platform that will support multiple body styles. The first electric SUV launched by Mahindra will be the XUV400 which is basically the electric version of the XUV300. The XUV400 will be unveiled in September and is expected to launch shortly thereafter.
