Live update on Australia: NSW Education Minister says teachers’ strike is’ dishonest ‘; Victoria Pandemic Bill Becomes Law | Australia News
These bus drivers have been relentless for the past several years throughout the pandemic to ensure that all essential workers get to and from work. Risking not only their own lives but also the lives of their families to ensure that everyone who needs transportation gets transportation to and from where they need to go.
We stand in solidarity with all region three bus drivers to make sure they can get what they deserve, they worked under an inferior company agreement, not an industry standard agreement but an inferior agreement over the past three years.
It has been over six months since its nominal term expired, but the company is still not ready to meet. And they’re certainly not putting anything on the table for bus drivers.
Moving forward as a reasonable industry deal, we call on the transit system to immediately put an offer on the table and [if they fail] to do this we call on the state government to intervene, after all, they are the economic employer that we must defend and we must fight this fight.
We cannot allow a company like this to pocket the thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars that the state government has given them. It should have been in the pockets of these bus drivers already. We cannot allow the company to get away with it or the state government.
