Kumaraswamy calls government “murderer” for family suicide

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy denounced the state government over the collective suicide of three family members of a BMTC employee, calling it a “murderous government”.
He urged Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to pay special attention to the families of transport company employees who have perished due to Covid, and to ensure that relief reaches their families as soon as possible.
BMTC employee Prasanna Kumar has died from Covid. His wife and two children committed suicide.
âThe suicide of the wife and children of an employee of a transport company in Nelamangala is devastating. The government could have prevented this incident and saved three innocent lives if it had offered relief and compassionate appointment to the families of the employees. It is a murderous government, âKumaraswamy said in a tweet.
The government, he said, should have stopped all “unnecessary spending and looting” and prioritized the elimination of relief cases for Covid victims at public sector companies. âIt is clear that the state government has failed completely and that those responsible have been irresponsible. They should be suspended immediately, âhe said.
The state government can prevent such tragedies by providing relief to Covid victims as soon as possible, the JD (S) chief added.
