Interswitch, Africa’s integrated payments and digital commerce company, said plans to digitize the transport of people and goods in the country are in the works.

The organization that revealed this at Lagos Transport Fest said the need for technology in all sectors, including transportation, is quickly becoming popular.

Speaking on “The Role of Digitization in Nigeria’s Urban Mobility”, Business Development Manager, Mass Transit Indeco at Interswitch, Nnenna Aja – Nwachukwu said that more than before, technology “is gaining traction. importance in solving the multifaceted challenges associated with daily travel, from the reservation to the actual movement of passengers.

She explained that the COVID-19 restrictions, in addition to the loss of income in businesses and elbow entrepreneurs, have accelerated the birth of innovative solutions that ensure safe and convenient travel.

She said the new transportation solutions would be unveiled to the public in a few months to add value to rail, sea, air and road transport operators as well as private companies offering public transport and ridesharing services.

“We built a solution to digitize the transportation system and connect with consumers through the Quickteller platform, making the transportation booking and payment process seamless.

“What we’re doing with the platform is basically leveraging technology to enable processes. The platform is robust and inclusive, so that it meets the needs of government and private companies. “
