Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot took to Twitter to announce the launch of a prototype of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) ‘s first all-electric bus. He also said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would be shutting down the electric bus soon and Gehlot also shared the images of the bus with his tweet.

“Congratulations Delhi! After a long wait, the prototype of the first 100% electric DTC bus has arrived in Delhi! Hon. CM Arvind Kejriwal will be shutting down this electric bus soon, ”Gehlot tweeted.

DTC is buying 300 of these buses – 140 low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses that were scheduled to begin delivery in November last year and that were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, among other reasons. These buses will be parked at Subhash Place depot, Mayapuri depot, Rohini-II depot, Rajghat-II depot and Mundela Kalan depot.

Other electric buses of this type will be integrated into the DTC fleet in the coming months. More than 3,500 new electric buses will be added to the DTC and cluster fleet in the coming months. The DTC Board of Directors also approved the installation of 1,245 low-floor buses, including 1,015 electric buses, to strengthen its fleet.

“The company has received a prestigious order to supply 200 fully-built, air-conditioned 12-meter-long low-floor electric buses for the Delhi Transport Corporation under the Government of India’s flagship policy FAME II (Faster Vehicle Adoption) electric), “JBM Auto said in a statement. filing dated November 8, 2021.

The bus maker has more than 35 factories all over India and its engineering field includes engineering and design, press line, assembly line, welding line, contract manufacturing , the steel service center, tool shop and surface treatment.

“We have expertise in the design and development of complete vehicle concepts including product definition, styling, packaging and concept modularity, modeling, engineering, simulation, prototyping, jig and assembly, testing / homologation and production support, “the JBM website read.
