Panaji, July 9 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday chaired a meeting with officials from various government departments and reviewed ongoing development work in Vasco constituency in south Goa.
The Chief Minister listened to the grievances presented by the representatives of the respective wards.
Informing the media, he said the purpose of his visit was to review development programs.
“Major works that fall under the responsibility of GSUDA (Goa State Urban Development Agency), such as the renovation of the MMC building, will be completed within 3-4 months. The work awaiting the road for the sanction of expenditure and other works would be completed by October-November. Tourism-related work, such as cleaning up Baina beach, would be undertaken, ”he said and asked officials from the Department of Water Resources (WRD) to unclog the nallah as soon as the water season is over. rains.
Repair work on the damaged roof sheets of the playground during the recent cyclonic storm will be resumed shortly, he said.
The chief minister said Vasco Jetty was with Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) and could not be taken until cleared by CRZ.
The fish market project would be completed on time, he said.
On the electricity side, the chief minister said underground wiring works at Baina were in the final stages of completion.
Wiring work worth Rs 46 crore was underway and awaiting financial and spending sanction.
Relevant officials have been tasked with remedying the problem of frequent power outages and working to provide uninterrupted power, he said.
The area to relocate the municipal school and another school had been identified and the project would be resumed in the long term, Dr Sawant said.
