Brown Rudnick Reaches $ 300 million in medical malpractice lawsuit

By Craig Clough (Jan. 26, 2021, 11:14 p.m. EST) – Brown Rudnick LLP has “in principle” settled a malpractice lawsuit with the trustee of the bankrupt Lyondell Chemical Co. after facing allegations that The company botched a $ 300 million recovery claim by failing to prove the company was insolvent, a New York federal judge said Tuesday.

US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer said he was informed by the parties that all claims in the lawsuit had been settled and dismissed them unscathed. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed and the parties’ lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
