Bandits kill Katsina transport company driver
Gunmen suspected of being bandits attacked a commercial bus belonging to the Katsina State Transport Authority (KSTA) on Sunday morning and killed the driver.
KSTA general manager Alhaji Haruna Musa, who confirmed the incident to reporters in Katsina, said the driver was Nasir Yusha’u.
Musa said: “The driver was shot by bandits passing on the road when he arrived with the passengers.
“He was coming from Jibia to Katsina around 11 a.m. when he met the bandits. As soon as the driver saw them, he tried to stop and turn back.

“But unfortunately for him, one of the tires of the vehicle was snagged by the sand. That’s how the bandits shot him down and the passengers started running in different directions.
“The bandits recovered the phones and other items belonging to some of the passengers and left the scene.
“The driver of the vehicle who told us what really happened said that none of the passengers had been abducted by the bandits.”
